About The Infiniti Speaker
The Infiniti Speaker is a portable speaker system that has the ability to charge itself. Using the Piezo Effect, our speaker will be able to use vibrational patterns, which are created when the user plays music out loud, to create mechanical stress. The mechanical stress will be converted into electrons, allowing our speaker to charge itself.
The Infiniti Speaker is convenient because it allows the user to eliminate the worry of having to constantly charge the speaker whenever they want to bring it somewhere. This allows our product to be used at anytime compared to other products that may require a charge after every time it is used. The Speaker itself will cost about $85.

About The Piezo Effect
The Power Behind the Infiniti Speaker
In order for the speaker to be able to charge itself, it would need a stable amount of electricity to charge it constantly. This is where "The Direct Piezoelectric Effect" comes in. This is when certain crystalline materials, when subjected to mechanical stress, are able to generate an electric charge proportional to that stress. Our speaker will either contain PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) tabs, or tabs made out of Quartz, which has the highest piezoelectric output known. This will fully utilize the Piezo effect in the speaker system.
As stated before, in order for the Piezo effect to occur, the crystalline material would need to be under stress. While researching we discovered that vibration waves could also trigger the Piezo effect. With this, we concluded that the speaker could charge itself just by playing music. When the user plays music out loud with the speaker, the vibration pattern will trigger the Piezo effect inside the speaker system ultimately charging it.
PVDF Tabs
Polyvinylidene Fluoride, PVDF, is a semi-crystalline, high purity thermoplastic fluoropolymer. It's properties include High mechanical strength and Piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties. PVDF Tabs are the main pieces of technology for the Infiniti Speaker. They will help implement the Piezo effect which will allow the speaker to transform vibrational waves into mechanical energy to charge the speaker.
